Movie night

so the story behind this pic is that i finally brought the extended edition of the movie the iron giant because i needed it in my life and i haven't seen this movie in years and yeah, the movie hit me hard in the feels all over again. the DVD also had a short documentary about the making of the iron giant, it was really good insight to how the movie got made. it was interesting brad bird had a small budget to work with and struck with a team of misfit animators no one wanted and the movie was in pre-production hell for a while, but yet was still able to pull out off animated movie gold with it. also it was interesting how brad bird and the production team were so confident this movie would do well in the theaters, but yet got shafted by warner brothers lack of marketing of this movie and the movie did poorly in theaters. talk about the biggest oof in animated movie history. thankfully the movie did a lot better in home video and DVD sales and word of mouth as helped it finally get the praise it deserves.

as for this pic i just wanted to draw a cute and charming moment between hograth and the robot that could of been in the movie, but never was. of course i have never drawn a robotic character before and stupid me wanted to draw the robot in the hardest pose possible that i don't know how to draw, so inaccuraties everywhere that made me want to pull me hair out. the robot is still not 100% right, but screw it, I'm tired of the pic and i doubt anyone is going to really care anyway.
